Frequently Asked Questions
What is a temporary phone number, and how does it work?
A temporary phone number is a disposable number used for a short period of time. It allows you to receive SMS messages without revealing your personal phone number. When you use a temporary number, messages sent to that number are forwarded to you, and the number is typically deactivated after a set period or when no longer needed.
Is it safe to use temporary phone numbers for SMS verification?
Using temporary phone numbers for SMS verification is generally safe, but there are some important considerations. If you use a free temporary number from our service, please be aware that its inbox is publicly accessible to all users. This means that any messages received on that number can be viewed by anyone who accesses the inbox. For enhanced privacy and security, consider using our paid numbers, which provide a private and secure experience with exclusive access to your messages.
Can I receive verification codes from any service or website?
Most services and websites that send SMS verification codes will work with our temporary phone numbers. However, some may block or restrict these numbers. If you encounter issues, try selecting a different number. (If you are using a paid number, please reach out to our support team for assistance.)
How long do the temporary phone numbers from your site remain active?
The activity period of our temporary phone numbers can vary. Typically, they remain active from a week to several months. After this period, or when the number is no longer in use, it will be deactivated.
Are there limits on the number of messages I can receive with your temporary numbers?
Generally, there are no strict limits on the number of messages you can receive. However, excessive use may sometimes lead to a temporary block of access to the site by our security system.
Do I need to register or provide personal information to use your service?
You do not need to register or provide personal information to use our free temporary numbers. However, registration is required for using paid numbers.
What should I do if my temporary number gets blocked by a service?
If your temporary number gets blocked by a service, try using a different number from our site. You can also contact the service's support team for assistance. If you’re a paid user, you can create a support ticket with us. If the issue is on our end, we’ll provide you with a new number.
How many countries' numbers are available?
Currently, we provide temporary numbers for three countries: India, the USA, and Nepal. We are planning a major upgrade soon and will be adding numbers for the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nigeria.
What are the differences between free and paid temporary numbers?
Free temporary numbers typically come with limited features or shorter activation periods. They may also be shared among multiple users, and their inboxes might be publicly accessible. Paid temporary numbers often offer extended activation times, better reliability, and exclusive use, providing a more private and secure experience.
How many temporary numbers can I buy?
You can purchase an unlimited number of temporary numbers from our site. There are no restrictions on how many you can buy.
Can I use a paid number for free?
We offer a 7-day free trial for our paid numbers. To take advantage of this offer, use the coupon code WELCOME7 when signing up. After the trial period, you can continue using the number by selecting one of our paid plans.
I have not received an SMS yet, why?
Some services may send OTPs (One-Time Passwords) via voice call instead of SMS. Our system only supports receiving SMS OTPs and verification codes, so we do not store or process voice call OTPs. If you haven’t received an SMS, please ensure the service you're using sends codes via SMS or try contacting their support for further assistance.
How often do you add new temporary numbers?
We add new temporary numbers on a monthly basis. This ensures that we have a fresh supply of numbers available for our users, helping to meet the increasing demand and improve overall service quality.
